Dancer Bios
Chloe Carlson
Joy! Resilience! Community! Chloe Carlson (she/her) focuses on weaving these 3 filaments as she shares her lifelong passion for dance via choreographing, teaching, and performing. She believes fervently in the transformational magic of dance and loves to inspire people to move. Chloe thanks her lucky stars to be co-directing Buoy Band with the brilliant Natalie Johnson, and collaborating with such a merry, lovely band of artists.
Natalie Johnson
Natalie Johnson has created and produced original dance performances throughout the country since 2013. Some feathers in her cap include receiving the Next Steps in Boston Dance grant, three artistic residencies in Finland, Costa Rica, and NYC respectively, and being a published poet in several literary publications. Natalie is thrilled to be Co-Directing Buoy Band with Chloe Carlson, navigating to cultivate resilient joy, vulnerable truth, and community strength. She delights in the interplay between language and dance, and loves creating humorous, tender and engaging movement.
Emma Lee Malbon
Shard Witch. Pirate Queen. Bubble Bandit. Emma is a freelance artist/dancer/poet/storyteller...priestess-of-portal-parties based in Providence, Rhode Island—a wyrd warrior and weaver of webs forged in fierce, fiery love. She spent her younger years erecting epic fairy houses, tiptoeing amongst thorns, and dancing up storms on an enchanted hill in New Hampshire. Her practice/passions include navigating the Erotic, sites of rupture, space/strange cartographies, and Spirit from a place of wonder, play, power and subversive joy! The path she travels is an ever-reverent, ever-shifting entanglement...storied by a multitude of experiences, forces, entities, and uncertainties. Cracks and irreverent reverence abound.
Alicia Wilder
Alicia Wilder is a Rhode Island based mover & creator. She is the founder & Artistic Director of Metamorphosis: the TEN31 Dance Company as well as a podcaster, cosplayer, and over all lover of art and nature. Alicia is thrilled to be a part of the Buoy Band Crew, cultivating dance magic and sharing the LOVE with our community.
Marissa Chura
Marissa Chura (she/her) is a Massachusetts based performer, choreographer and educator whose love of dance is rooted in her belief that movement holds the power to express emotion and experience in a way that words alone cannot. She has performed throughout New England both as a solo artist and with various companies, and is overjoyed to be spreading the love with Buoy Band! Amy Maria Burns
Amy Maria Burns is a magna cum laude graduate of Adelphi University, earning a BFA in Dance. She’s had the honor of working and studying with Robert Christopher, Carmen de Lavallade, Gail Gilbert, Edisa Weeks and Rebecca Wright. Ms. Burns has danced in works by Robert Battle, Maria Bauman, Laura Bennett, Colin Connor, Danny Grossman, Deb Meunier, David Parsons, Pascal Rioult and Anna Sokolow. Amy currently dances with Zoe Dance Company, Dancing Legacy, Saving Grace Dance Ensemble and Buoy Band. She has also performed with Fusionworks Dance Company, Sokolow Now, Balliamo Dance Collective, Bill Evans Dance Company, Denizen Arts, Elemdi Performance Collaborative, Metamorphosis Dance Company and Danza Organica. She has been on faculty at Brown University, Brookline High School, Dancing Arts Center, Dean College and is a Balanced Body certified Pilates instructor. She currently teaches dance at Wheaton College, The Dance Complex, and Pilates virtually. When not dancing Amy spends most of her time with her three greatest loves who go by the names Anthony, Eliana and Marcus.
Adrienne Silva
Adrienne Silva began her dance journey at New Hampshire Academie of Dance in Londonderry, NH, at age eight, where her love for movement blossomed and followed her through college at Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI. While earning her Bachelor of Arts in Dance Performance at RWU, she had the privilege to collaborate with many talented and renowned artists such as David Dorfman, Sean Curran, Tiffany Mills, Neta Pulvemacher, and DeAnna Pelleccia. Adrienne’s highlights at RWU also include studying dance performance abroad in London, England in 2008 and performing her senior performance piece, “Worry Stone,” at the American College Dance Festival in 2010. After graduation, Adrienne pursued further education at Tufts University in Medford, MA, where she earned a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. She remained active in the dance community, performing with the Angie Moon Dance Theater and as a company member of Sokolow Now!, a troupe, led by Lorry May, dedicated to performing Anna Sokolow’s works exclusively. Adrienne currently resides in Acushnet, MA with her husband and two children. She is excited and honored to reignite her passion for movement with Steve Vaughn and the SoCo Movement Artists.
Aneshia Savino
Aneshia Savino (all pronouns) is a New Bedford-based apothecary/dancer/scribe. They curate the Marie Equi Zine Library for BodyBodyBody, are writing their first book, and are a founding member of the Queer Arts Council of NB and TRANSfiguration. Their poetry and art has been featured by Anomaly and Design Art & Technology Institute of MA (DATMA). Aneshia loves performing in unconventional settings, including at Haskell Gardens, Hatch Street Open Studios, Outlandish (Society for Creative Anachronisms), AS220, and Burning Man.
Cynthia Adams
Cynthia Adams, MA, RYT 500, YACEP®is Artistic Director of Fellow Travelers Performance Group and Iowa State University Teaching Professor Emerita of Kinesiology. In 2024 and 2025 Cynthia’s choreography and artistic investigations were supported by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Iowa Arts Council, and FTPG toured a two woman show in Fringe Festivals in Canada, Minneapolis and Providence, RI. Cynthia holds an MA in Choreography/Performance from the University of California, Los Angeles and a BA in Pre-Dance Therapy from New York University in New York City. She serves on the American College Dance Association (ACDA) board of directors and on the Screen Dance Committee. Cynthia is a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider® (YACEP®), Pilates trainer, and BioMechanics Method Corrective Exercise Specialist.
